Danepak V Lakenheath 22/03/09 « Result #4 on Mar 23, 2009, 6:13am »
Another step in the right direction for Danepak f.c. After a good start to the season, then a massive drop in form we are now looking to be playing better football with more confidence & picking up some importaint points. The first half was a pretty even affair with lakenheath having the better scoring chances, only being kept out by some excellent saves from piotr Swoboda in the Danepak goal.Lakenheath getting the only goal of the first half through a penalty.Danepak pulled level in the 2nd half with a wicked long range drive from Paul williamson sailing into the back of the net, lakenheath soon retook the lead after swoboda failed to hold onto a shot ( his only blip in an otherwise faultless game ) Danepak pulled leval again through Lewis Bishop & had a good chance to take all 3 points but for a good last ditch tackle foiling Ryan Kirwan.

A deserved result on Sunday against one of the more fancied and experienced teams. The team looked well balanced and the 'younger' legs added some pace. The experienced defensive players had a solid game. All in all you should be well pleased.

The loss of several major players who had been the backbone of the team for the last 8 seasons,is not something that can be overcome overnight. The majority of Danepak f.c's new signings are very young and had not had a lot of expearience of adult football and the team are having trouble gelling together. When a team has to make wholesale changes there will allways be a period of time when the team is not performing to its true capabilities,It happens to most teams at some stage. Its not a problem we just need to stick together and get it right.

well playing all youngsters has worked out well,26 goals against and three scored ,in last few games ,what has gone wrong ,never used to let that many in, nothing like a bit of experience, and youth.
